CrosSING Bridges Unites Pittsburghers in Song
The rain and the snow couldn’t keep the audience away from Third Presbyterian Church as the Mendelssohn Choir, The Heritage Gospel Chorale of Pittsburgh, and Coro Latinoamericano Pittsburgh repeated their October standing-room only performance of CrosSING Bridges on Saturday night. Audiences were able to experience each chorus’s rich musical traditions, as the choruses performed a solo set, and then all came together to sing as one united choir (“They heard it down the street, I’m sure!”), with an audience-participation portion to end the concert. Concert-goers were thrilled to hear each choir, especially those choruses they may not have experienced before. One audience member said that they “love[d] how reflective it is of how Pittsburgh is growing and changing culturally,” while another felt the concert was: “A way to connect with each other [and] different cultures as people through singing.”
