Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh Selected as Grantee of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Arts Innovation and Management Program

The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh today announced that it is a grantee recipient of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Arts Innovation and Management (AIM) program. The invitation-only program seeks to strengthen the organizational capacity and programming of small and mid-size cultural organizations within Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Denver, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Through the $43 million multi-year initiative, Bloomberg Philanthropies will provide unrestricted general operating support as well as arts management training in areas that include fundraising, strategic planning, marketing and board development.

“To say we’re thrilled to be included in this exciting new program would be an understatement,” says Mary Ann Lapinski, Mendelssohn’s executive director. “We’re now in our second century and find ourselves at a crossroads of celebrating our incredible legacy while at the same time producing a new, contemporary vision for Pittsburgh’s choral music scene. The Bloomberg program will give us the much-needed resources to make that vision a reality.”
